StarChile 2010   :   CCD observations of variable star ATACAMA2 Cen


The new W UMa (EW) type eclipsing binary ATACAMA2 Cen = CzeV204 Cen = VSX J111142.9-512138 = USNO-B1.0 0386-0246754 (R.A. = 11h 11m 42.955s, Decl. = -51° 21' 38.15", equinox 2000.0, m = 13.6 - 14.1 V mag) has been found near variable star V777 Cen on 09th April 2010 by Martin Lehký and Dalibor Hanžl at Space Atacama Lodge near San Pedro de Atacama, Chile (68° 10' 48.7" W and 22° 57' 09.8" S) using a 0.20-m f/4 reflector and SBIG ST-8 CCD camera with BVRI filters (field of view 59' x 39' and 2.3" x 2.3" / 1 px).

Comparison stars were cmp USNO-B1.0 0385-0245985 ( R.A. = 11h 12m 00.285s, Decl. = -51° 26' 08.30", J2000.0, R2mag = 8.98), ch1 USNO-B1.0 0385-0245280 ( R.A. = 11h 11m 08.173s, Decl. = -51° 26' 18.98", J2000.0, R2mag = 9.35) and ch2 USNO-B1.0 0386-0246874 ( R.A. = 11h 11m 52.104s, Decl. = -51° 22' 25.38", J2000.0, R2mag = 9.62).

HJD Min I = 2455299.52573 +/- 0.00102   /   P = 0.285899 +/- 0.000027 d   /   amplitude 0.50 mag


Discovery has been preliminary published in the catalogue CzeV (# 204) - 24th July 2010 & in the International Variable Star Index (# VSX J111142.9-512138) - 24th July 2010.
The times of minima will be publish in the database of Variable Star and Exoplanet Section of Czech Astronomical Society.
